A wonderful collection of short stories that are thought provoking and pleasant to read. Very well written and edited and each tale has a different story to tell with completely new protagonists. I enjoyed them all and loved howl fast the pages flowed and completed the whole book in a very short time which is a credit to the author's talent. I would recommend this collection.Product details

This is a wonderful collection of short stories. None of these stories were alike, and the combination of them is certainly well worth reading.
I personally could not put the book down it had a very encouraging effect on me. Again a very well produced set of short stories.
This is a very well-written collection of stories, aptly titled The Human Element; these stories are very much human, about the love and tender care we have for our fellow man and the values of family and friendship. Antoine's stories are carefully conceived and well-developed, and I enjoyed each and every little treasure they had to offer. Great collection.
I'm sure Julia Antoine set out to write short stories that inspire, and inspirational they are. If you're feeling down, or get sick of all the depressing news on TV, that is the best time to read "The Human Element." The author takes different aspects of the human character and develops them into fast paced, simple stories that leave the reader hopeful and inspired with love of the human character. All her characters are different, from young lovers, to working people trying to make a life, but all are imbued with a strong character. The stories include love at first sight, people helping a mother in need, a peanut vendor who makes a friend, the triumph of friendship, and others, all beautiful stories, well written. Julia Antoine shows that simple stories and simple people can be fascinating and hold our attention. I highly recommend this little book of eight short stories. They would make good bedtime reading.
Julia E. Antoine has given us a series of stories she says are based on a lifetime of experiences. Antoine's decsion to bare her soul has given us, the reader, skillfully written and enthralling insights such as the romantic 'A wonderful piece of dark mahogany' and the heart wrenching 'A mothers miracle.' A wonderful collection of short stories that are a joy to read.
I loved how this little collection of short stories peaked the emotions and heightened the senses about love, friendship, life changes, and care. The characters were true to their role and well-developed. The author leaves the reader hopeful and reinvigorated about life! Well done. I love the title-The Human Element-because that's exactly what the author wrote. This was a short treasure. Many thanks!
Each story in the collection is a jewel. I enjoyed them thoroughly. Very innovative. I especially enjoyed the aspect of love in its many forms and feelings. The story of the older person is especially poignant. One story a night at bedtime was perfect to erase some of the trials of the day send me off to dreamland in a peaceful frame of mind. Thank you Julia.

An interesting sampling from a new-to-me writer. I feel like this collection had a little bit of everything. Optimistic and uplifting at times, frustrating and sad at times. I did feel like some of the stories left me wanting more. But I found the voice and pace to be very unique, giving many of the stories a timeless quality. I also enjoyed chapter segments within short stories. Overall, they're enjoyable snapshots of real life.
